FAQ
How long should an officiant script be?
15 to 20 minutes for a ceremony with vows. A short civil ceremony can run 8 to 10 minutes. The script handles pacing — you just need to know it well.
What does an officiant script include?
Opening welcome, the couple's love story (2 to 3 paragraphs), readings or music cues if needed, the vow exchange, ring exchange, pronouncement, and closing.
Do I need to memorize the script?
No. Most officiants read from a printed script or tablet. The goal is to look up regularly and know the script well enough that reading it sounds natural — not like you're reading.
Can the generator handle non-religious ceremonies?
Yes — all of our scripts are non-religious by default. You can indicate a preference for traditional language or completely modern language.
How much of the ceremony should reference the couple's actual story?
As much as possible. The love story section — 2 to 4 paragraphs of personal context — is what makes a ceremony feel like it was written for these specific people.
